Learning the symbols of the elements is necessary for students to be successful in Chemistry. Practice is the only way to learn the symbols.

The first quiz gives the name of the element and the student is required to click on it's symbol. This helps students learn the position of each element on the periodic table as well as the symbol. The correct answer flashes when a selection is made.

There are two forms of this quiz - one with 50 symbols and another with 72. At the end of each, the score is tabulated and printed on screen.

A second quiz also displays the name of the element but this time the student is required to type in the correct symbol. If missed the correct answer is displayed. The student's score is calculated and shown at the end of the quiz.

Another quiz requires that the student correctly spell the name of the elements. As before the correct answer is given and scores are displayed at the end of the quiz.
