Scientific Notation is a short program that begins showing the student why exponents are often needed in expressing scientific measurements.

An explaination of exponents is important if the student is to understand scientific notation.

With a little practice (six problems to be exact) students quickly learn that scientific notation involves moving the decimal. In this part of the program they must click and drag a decimal point to the correct spot to make the customary decimal form equal the scientific notation value. They cannot progress on until they place it in the correct location.

A self grading electronic quiz with typed in answers completes the program.
