Webster defines procedure as "the series of actions, operations, or motions involved in the accomplishment of an end." Procedures enable humans to function in society knowing the acceptable and efficient ways to do things.

Classroom procedures are for the benefit of the student - it will help you do your work with less confusion and thus help you be successful in class. Procedures should not be confused with discipline - procedures are how things are done, discipline is how people behave. It is very important that you learn and follow classroom procedures in Physical Science.

IMPORTANT: Friends don't ask friends to see their homework! Do not give another student your papers to either look at or copy. This is considered cheating and will result in a zero for that assignment for both students. If another student request help with their homework you can help them - just don't have your paper out where it can be seen. When you have your paper visible other students can copy it. Copying assignments is not tolerated in HPS. Do your own work and everything will be fine. Do not ask your friends to see their homework - you are placing them in a position where they can receive a zero.
