Participation in the SHS JROTC Drill Team teaches cadets respect, responsibility and integrity…qualities also necessary to be successful in the JROTC. Learning to perform drill with perfect precision and timing while keeping military bearing is essential for success. Cadets also learn the qualities required to command a squad or even a platoon.
The Drill Team travels to meets all over the state of Florida competing for trophies and bragging rights. This year’s Drill Commander is Jason Neff, who brings three years of experience to the team.
On October 25, the Sarasota High School JROTC will be hosting the Sarasota County Drill Meet. Five other schools in the county will be attending this important competition. The Bulldog Battalion Drill Team expects to be the last standing!
