I was born and raised around the captivating waters of the bay and gulf in Sarasota, FL. I have come to love the water, and spent the majority of my weekends growing up either on the beach or paddling in the sea alongside it. I have covered almost every inch of the Intracoastal Waterway from Anna Maria Island down to the Venice Jetties in my Valley Nordkapp sea kayak. I spent all fours years of my high school career volunteering and interning at the Mote Marine Laboratory on City Island.

 

Now that I have moved onto to college in north-central Florida, I have discovered how much I value (and miss) the vast expanses of water. With an education in environmental ethics, I feel that I can bring about change in the way that we humans value nature and help bring about the development of interest in the well-being of Mother Earth.
