Color Guard is a special team of the JROTC that has the honor of presenting the flag or posting and retiring the colors at local, state or national events. The Bulldog Battalion Color Guard has seven current members and is in the process of training new members. The highest standards of uniform wear and appearance, discipline and military bearing are mandatory for Color Guard participation. Color Guard members practice team ship and embody the characteristics of an outstanding JROTC Cadet.
Color Guard participates in the Veteran’s Day parade and Sailors home football games. They have also participated in UF Gator games, the St. Petersburg Grand Prix, Tampa Rays games and Orlando Magic basketball. The team has applied to participate in a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game.
The Color Guard is always treated with respect and honor at these events. Additionally, food, friends and the opportunity to attend exciting events make participation in the JROTC Color Guard an outstanding experience.
